Government Action

Even before Trump’s inauguration, he was establishing his cabinet positions to assist him in his leadership of this country. As he was sworn into office, positions still had to be filled. He worked right away to fill the vacancies. Some of the big positions include: Secretary of Defense James Mattis, Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, and more.

Throughout his time in office, Mr. Trump has set a harsh precedent on his immigration policy. Through his travel bans that got blocked by federal judges to ban people from certain countries from coming/staying in the U.S. to his intentions on building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Even with the blocking of the travel ban, President Trump plans to take his views to the Supreme Court. According to Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the wall is in progress to be started sometime in the summer, and it is still believed to be paid by Mexico. Not only has Trump’s physical action had an impact on immigration so has his fierce intimidation of deportation. Since his inauguration, illegal immigration is down 64 percent. President Trump also signed an Executive Order to ban sanctuary cities. These are only a few of the objectives that President Trump has completed in only 100 days in office.
